New Kid in Town

First. Post. Ever.  How exciting!  This blog is going to be my personal journal.  I've always been a big paper journal freak.  I like to remember what I did exactly one year ago today, so a journal has always been a must for me.  I also note daily happenings on my calendar.  These are trivial happenings like "ate spaghetti for dinner with Jason" or "watched movie with mom."  I love flipping through my old calendars and reminiscing.  My calendars have come in handy many times.  For instance a close friend of mine couldn't remember when her last menstrual cycle was.  Luckily, I remembered that she started the morning we were supposed to go boating at Lake Monroe.  So I broke out the handy dandy calendar to find out exactly when we went boating.  Glad I could save the day!

So, needless to say, I've been slacking on my hard-copy journal and calendar entries.  With working full time and having a 3 and 4 year old, what can I say - I've had more important things to do lately.  I don't want to forget anything about these precious life moments, so this blog is going to force me to write, something I've always loved doing.  Writing is a big part of my current job, which I'll be leaving soon (more on that later) so this is going to be my new writing assignment.  Stay tuned for more!
